Our suggestion : Ideal for travellers who have visited Ooty many times earlier and would like to enjoy and experience the native western ghats at its best. This package is an opportunity to sight wildlife while venturing into the forest and also by taking part in some mild activity .

These packages are worth to be utilised even once or twice every year.

Please note only the actual fees and charges payable to the forest department would be collected from the guests . This package is done only for guests who are eco-friendly in nature and only after a clear undertaking from the guest that they would follow the rules , regulations and guidelines set by the Forest department , EB department and other departments the trip shall be arranged .

Day 1 Avalanche & Emerald

Avalanche is a valley that `s much more than just beautiful with rolling meadows, swaying flowers, slow trickling streams and marine life that comes, literally, Kicking out of the waters. It lies at 26 km from Ooty, and is a great draw for wanderers, loners and families alike. A trout hatchery is established near the Avalance Lake.
Jeep ride into the jungle with the help of forest department

Day 2 Baralikadu Nature Camp ( Can be arranged only on Saturday and Sunday )*

Trained tribal men were enrolled to drive the coracles. The coracle ride is being conducted only on Saturday and Sundays. Each coracle can be accommodated with 4 tourists and hence totally 40 tourists in all 10 coracles.

Trekking inside the jungle or river bathing

Activities :
This coracle ride starts by 10 Am and completed with 2 hours joy in the Bhavani river back water. Tourists are enjoying the beauty of the forests and they can interact with tribal villagers situated along the bank of the river. After the ride, delicious lunch with traditional tribal food* viz., ragi balls with fish curry, vegetable salad, chappathi-kuruma, variety rice, curd rice with mineral water and fruits are served with utmost hygiene. The tourists are taken for trekking inside the jungle followed by lunch in the gentle terrain so that the women and children also enjoy the jungle ride or cheerful bathing in the clean Bhavani river.

1. Catherine Falls

Catherine Falls is a double-cascaded waterfall located in Kotagiri, The upper fall drops to the floor, and is the second highest in the Nilgiri mountains.. The height of water falls is about 250ft.Catherine Falls is named after the wife of M.D. Cockburn, believed to have introduced the coffee plantation to Kotagiri

2. Mudumalai Tiger reserve*, Elephant Camp*, Forest Ride* (1 day)

The Mudumalai National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary also a declared Tiger Reserve, lies on the northwestern side of the Nilgiri Hills, The protected area is home to several endangered and vulnerable species dinging Indian elephant, Bengal Tiger, Gaur and Indian Leopard.

Activities in Mudumalai Tiger Reserve:

Visiting elephant camp.Theppakadu elephant camp is located just nearer to Theppakadu Reception Centre. Visitors are allowed to this camp in the evening during elephant feeding to witness the feeding process. Everyday 2 elephants perform pooja to Lord Vinayaka inside the camp. The elephants are used for joy riding of tourists early morning and evening on charges.

Forest Ride in Mudumalai :
Mudumalai is organized with well-planned paths and is best explored by vans/ mini-buses. Several trails skirt waterholes where exciting animal activity can be watched.

3. Tribal Village visit / Plantation Tour / Fishing * ( 1 Day )

a. Tribal Village and Farm Visit:
A visit to Toda village .
Where you can see the toda `s temple, a common worship place of a cluster of Toda Munds, stands tall at 15 feet and is an architectural wonder. The place can be reached at just 30 mins drive from our resort.Toda culture is buffalo-centred and the prosperity of each mund is judged by the number of wild buffaloes each one owns.

b. Tea Plantation visit:
Visit to a tea plantation. The Nilgiris region is famous for its tea and many of the areas around Ooty are carpeted with the lush greenery of tea plantations. The tour includes onsite tea factories with shops at which guests can purchase some of the freshly processed teas.

c. Fishing* :

Fishing can be done in the following Lake`s / River / Dam on availing licence from the fisheries* and forest deparments*.

Ooty Lake, Pykkara Lake, Glenmarken, Mayar (masinagudi), Kundah & Emerald Dam.

4. Mukurthi* , Porthimund* , Parsons Valley* ( 1 Day )

a) Mukurthi National Park (MNP) is a 78.46 km2 protected area located in the western corner of the Nilgiris Plateau west of Ootacamund hill station in the Western Ghats. The park was created to protect its Keystone species, the Nilgiri Tahr. The park is characterised by Montane grasslands and shrublands interspersed with sholas in a high altitude area of high rainfall, near-freezing temperatures and high winds. It is home to an array of endangered wildlife, including Royal Bengal Tiger and Asian Elephant, but its main mammal attraction is the Nilgiri Tahr. The park is a part of Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, India `s first International Biosphere Reserve. As part of the Western Ghats, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1 July 2012.

b. Parsons Valley /Porthimund
Just 12 kms from Ooty, Parson `s Valley is located near the Mukkurthi national park and acts as a base for trekking to various points of the Western Ghats in the Nilgiri district. Trekkers, wildlife enthusiast and naturalist come here in great numbers.

Many tribals like Toda tribe live here in the Parson Valley region. On the way to Parson `s Valley, one passes the Dam and close by one can also visit the Porthimund Dam and Mukkurthi lake. The government has set up a Parson `s Valley Hydel Reservoir in this region. Parson `s Valley is a perfect nature setting with flowing streams, small waterfalls, pine trees of Pandiar hills, heavy forested areas and some rare animals among them.
